A Blindfolded Run to Raise Awareness
On February 27th, we will be introducing our first cross-border (USA-Canada) collaboration, launching “In-Sight: The Unseen Road – part 1”, a series of events that will help raise awareness for children with visual impairments in support of the Make-A-Wish®/ Rêves d’enfantsMD Canada and Make-A-Wish® Metro New York. Our very own foundation president, Sherin Al-Safadi, will be running the Rockapulco half marathon in New York, completely blindfolded!
To truly gain insight into the lives of these special need’s children, Sherin and her guide Collin, who will be acting as her “eyes” throughout the race, aim to help give a voice and platform that empower these special children and help them acknowledge their inner hero!
To support Part I of this run, we ask that you consider a donation to support Fondation Amal’s journey into the Unseen Road. To be blindfolded is to take a leap into unchartered territory, a path towards insight into the feat of the unsung heroes that motivate our mission. Not only is this a physical challenge, but a mental challenge as well in overcoming physical boundaries, that these wish kids undertake daily.
