Centre Philou was founded by a couple, Diane Chênevert and Sylvain Brosseau, when they realized the severe lack of services and moral support available for them and their son Philippe, who suffers from severe cerebral palsy. The center has improved a lot since its opening in 2005 and now offers a variety of specialized services for children 0 to 15 years old.
In a few words, Centre Philou is comprised of a team of dedicated professionals who work together to improve the quality of life of children with multiple disabilities and give the necessary support to the families. The center offers, amongst others, services specialized in stimulation, therapy and education, and the well-needed respite care. It is also important to mention that Centre Philou wishes to double its capacity by 2018, in addition to raising the age limit to 21 years old.
We are committed to specifically support the “Paprika” program, a multidisciplinary program of early stimulation for children from 0 to 5 years old. Motor development, sensory and cognitive stimulation are on the agenda for theses kids to improve their abilities in a stimulating, loving, warm and family-like environment.
Therefore, we are proud to officially announce that Fondation Amal will support Centre Philou for the year 2016 and we are committed to improve the quality of life of those children and their family. We hope you will be joining us this year.
